Barn to Run Trail Series - Weir River Farm

The Weir River Farm Trail Run is Saturday, September 16, 2018 and includes running the trails of Weir River Farm and neighboring Whitney and Thayer Woods. There are 3 race distances to choose from — 9.3 miles, 6.0 miles and 3.4 miles.  After the race, stay for the post-race festivities that include beer, giveaways, awards, a farm stand,  farm tours and more.

The Weir River Farm Trail Run offers runners a first-class trail race, but is also designed to showcase and raise awareness for the Farm’s property, programs and CSA (community supported agriculture) operations.  A portion of the proceeds from will be donated to the farm.

ZELUS BEER GARDEN - ASHLAND

ZELUS is excited to announce that it will have a pop up taproom and beer garden located at The Corner Spot in Ashland, MA. Ashland is a beautiful town nestled in the Metro West of Boston. The ZELUS Beer Garden will be open for two weeks from August 24 to September 6. Tasters, pints and merchandise will be available for purchase. A food truck will be parked adjacent to the Corner Spot shed while the Beer Garden is open. Music and other events to be arranged and will be announced as we approach August 24. Opening hours are listed below (these are subject to change, and we advise you to check Facebook on the day of intended visit).

Beer will only be served to those over 21 and patrons must present a valid MA state driver's license/liquor ID/ID card, valid military ID and/or a valid passport/passport card. Out of state driver's licenses will not be accepted. Only 2 drinks to be served per person per purchase. Beer to be consumed only inside The Corner Spot shed and within the roped area outside.

Brew at the Zoo @ Franklin Park

This beer-tasting event offers guests the opportunity to walk on the wild side as they sample offerings from a variety of breweries and restaurants. The entire zoo (weather permitting) will be open for this event.

Wander off the beaten path on a prehistoric journey through time in Franklin Park Zoo’s all-new immersive experience, Destination Dino! You’ll come face-to-face with colossal creatures from the past, from the towering Tyrannosaurus Rex to the emu-like Citipati.

A New Beginning to the first step in terror! We're excited to present another terrifying off-site outdoor double-feature of Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning and Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan on Friday, July 13th in the Rocky Woods!

This highly immersive film-going experience puts you at the Rocky Woods, in Medfield, MA, watching two of the most iconic Camp Slasher films in cinema history! Expertly projected onto a giant screen set up right beside a pond eerily similar to the infamous Crystal Lake, you'll feel like Jason is lurking just behind the trees as you watch him begin anew (Part V), and menace the island of Manhattan(Part VIII).

The Coolidge After Midnite film series is proud to partner with the Trustees of Reservations for this unique event! Camp sites are available! Register with the Trustees directly (charlesrivervalley@thetrustees.org) for details! Rocky Woods is one of over a hundred special places protected and managed by The Trustees. Come early to set up your camp site and enjoy miles of trails,views from the summit of Cedar Hill.

With 6.5 miles of trails winding through varied terrain, Rocky Woods is a year-round destination for outdoors lovers of all abilities. The 0.75-mile loop around Chickering Pond, the largest of the reservation’s five man-made ponds, is a family favorite. From I-95/Rt. 128 (Exit 16B): Rt. 109 West for 5.7 mi. Turn right onto Hartford St. and follow for 0.6 mi. to entrance and parking (100 cars) on left. From Intersection of Rts. 27 and 109 (Medfield): Take Rt. 109 East and bear left onto Hartford St. Continue as above. $5 parking fee (not included in ticket price). Food and concessions will be available for sale! Please do not BYOB.

Details: The DAM Triathlon in it’s 8th year of existence is a USAT Sanctioned sprint distance triathlon at Lake Gardner in Amesbury, MA managed by a USAT Certified Race Director. This sprint distance tri, just 45 minutes North of Boston is the perfect race for any triathlete, beginner to elite alike. ZēLUS BEER will be poured from 9 am.
